HOME OF THE 100,000 BULB LIGHT SHOW!

MAKING THE WORLD BRIGHTER, ONE BULB AT A TIME

The GRINCHES That are Trying to Steal Christmas

It seems that every neighborhood has a Grinch when it comes to Christmas

We have been pretty tolerant when it comes to this and have tried to brush it off. However, when it starts to affect the donations and the efforts we put forth to help needy families, we have no tolerance. Therefore we felt it necessary to speak our mind.

This all started in 2008 with two neighbors that we will call neighbors A and B. Neighbors A live down the street a bit next door to each other. They are father and son. We were getting complaints from our guests that these two were yelling at them, swearing at them and even threatening them for parking on their grass or even near their house. We had offered at the beginning of the season to supply, install and maintain wooden stakes and caution tape just like you see at the homes near the show, but they claimed they wanted "nothing from me".

One night, during the show their son/grandson and the children of neighbor B were riding there bikes very fast, popping wheelies and other unsafe acts within a foot or so of the guests that were standing across the street. When they nearly hit a small child and one was almost run over when he wrecked in front of a van, I told them they should stop driving reckless and/or should also ride their bikes further down the street. The response from the 14 year old son of neighbor A was, "Well, my Dad says your light show sucks!" I told him NOT to be a smart alec, respect his elders and that if his Dad had any issues he could talk to me about it.
